Have lunch in a typical Tuscan farm and taste 5 of our best wines. A fantastic experience traveling through the Tuscan streets and the city of Pisa (famous for the Leaning Tower and Piazza dei Miracoli) and Lucca (a wonderful city within the ancient medieval walls and birthplace of the opera’s composer: Giacomo Puccini).
Itinerary:
• Our expert driver will pick you up at your cruise ship at Livono port
• First stop in Pisa and visit to the famous Leaning Tower.
• Second stop at a wonderful family-run winery where you will enjoy a Tuscan lunch accompanied by 5 delicious wines.
• Last stop in Lucca and free visit of this beautiful city, surrounded by its walls, rich in music and ancient churches. In Lucca you will find typical Tuscan shops run by expert craftsmen.
• The return is expected around 5.00 pm

The first stop will be in Pisa, where you’ll have time to admire and photograph the famous “Leaning Tower”, and the other monuments of the square including the Baptistery and the Cathedral. The Tower began to lean during construction in the 12th century, due to soft ground which could not properly support the structure’s weight, and it worsened through the completion of construction in the 14th century. The structure was stabilized by remedial work between 1993 and 2001, which reduced the tilt to 3.97 degrees. Climbing to the top of the leaning tower of Pisa is a unique experience and it offers a very beautiful view of the town. The base ticket price is 20 €.

After the visit to Pisa we will move for lunch in a Tuscan farm:
at the Azienda Agricola Carmignani, with the typical hospitality of a family-run business and a long history of wine written in the foundations (winemakers since 1386). Here you can find the right combination between scrupulous tradition and modern technologies, therefore ancient and wonderful vines and wines produced by careful hands. The favorable location favors perfect exposure of the vineyards to the sun’s rays, so much so as to allow the production of one of the best white wines of this D.O.C. area certainly appreciated by Bacchus. You will certainly be interested in the oenological mystery and here the house sommelier, Elena, intervenes directly with a welcome toast.
3-course lunch with homemade pasta, homemade bread, cured meats, ham, pecorino and more.
Each dish will be accompanied by a delicious different wine.

In the early afternoon we will make a final stop in Lucca, for a self-guided tour of the city in the historic center.
Visiting Lucca means discovering the birthplace of the composer Giacomo Puccini, traveling through the signs of time, through history and art, from the Roman period to the Middle Ages, from the Renaissance to the nineteenth century and the modern era. Lucca is magical in all seasons, with its famous walls, crowned with trees and pedestrian areas in the inner part of the city, it is the perfect place for a walk or a bike ride.

At the end of the visit we will return to the port of Livorno.
