Hop on to your comfortable private transportation and start your fun and practical journey between destinations, spend your time on the road conversing with your expert English speaking driver before arriving in Orvieto, an extraordinary town perched on a high cliff overlooking the picturesque valley. Orvieto dates all the way back to Etruscan times although it developed mostly throughout the Middle Ages under the Papal States. Enjoy leisure time exploring the city’s cobbled streets and quiet piazzas and marvel at the intricate Duomo, the art filled interiors and the stunning gothic facade decorated with sculptures and gold mosaics that sparkle in the sun. Of the many sights Orvieto offers, the extraordinary double-helix well of Saint Patrick is a rare architectural delight, a testament to the preciousness of water and the great lengths that people would go to assure its availability.

Enjoy free time to indulge in the tasty local cuisine accompanied by Umbria’s tasty wines.

After visiting Orvieto, continue to the stunning and unique hill top village of Civita Bagnoregio. Walk along the long, pedestrian bridge which is the town’s only access route to this day, to marvel at the high and friable volcanic sandstone cliffs that surround it. The Romanesque San Donato church welcomes you in the main square, but the origins of the town date back to the Etruscan era 500 years before Christ. Nicknamed “the Dying Town” today because of its population of only seven people during winter, Civita is admirable for its unique architecture spanning hundreds of years, as well as its ability to withstand the intrusions of modernity.

Enjoy the last stretch of road towards the modernity – or antiquity – of Rome and be dropped off at your accommodation after about 8 hours of service.
