This sake brewery tour takes place at Tenryo Sake Brewery located in Hagiwara town. It takes just 15 minutes by car or train from Gero Hot Spring. The tour starts at JR Hida Hagiwara station and you will know the history of town first while leisurely walking. It has historically strong ties with Takayama from Sengoku period (16C). There are still some traditional buildings along the Hida Way at the center of Hagiwara, and one of those is Tenryo Sake Brewery. Tenryo Sake Brewery started in Edo period (17C) and now it is representative of sake breweries in Hida region. Their best brand sake named “Tenryo” has won lots of awards not only in Japan, but in overseas and it is served in some high-class Japanese-style restaurants. At Tenryo Sake Brewery, you will see the inside to know more about ingredients of sake and the brewing process explained by the brewer step by step. After the special experience, you will actually enjoy Tenryo’s sake. Depending on the season, but they will offer you their best sake and you can find your favorite one.
