Japanese dining manners start with itadaki-masu and end with gochisousama-deshita. These embody gratitude for consuming the life of the ingredients and gratitude for the persons preparing the food. This is your opportunity to learn the essence of Washoku from a master Washoku chef in Hiroshima, Setouchi Region. Nature abounds here, making it a perfect place to experience the Japanese ethos.

A master Washoku chef will share his traditional skills—how to rinse for delicious cooked rice, how to clean and prepare fish, flavorings and procedures unique to Washoku, and more. Participants will learn how to cook sushi and tempura, both well-known as Japanese cuisine.

In addition, participants will learn manners for eating, the etiquette for Washoku based on the concern for valuing others. Specifically, this includes the proper way to hold chopsticks and rice bowls and the order dishes are eaten. Learn by experience the behavior that conveys class and appears beautiful.
