This is a perfect tour for those without a plan. We will spend one full day going around Hiroshima city, by foot and streetcars!
Starting from Hiroshima station, visit a Japanese garden full of greenery, enjoy Japanese art at a museum, and climb Hiroshima castle’s tower. You will also visit venues showing the importance of peace and life, and try Hiroshima’s soul food, Okonomiyaki!
We will end the tour at a local secret top floor hotel bar by the cape. Also, enjoy nature along the ocean on the way.

Stop At: Shukkei-en Garden, 2-11 Kaminobori-cho, Hiroshima Hiroshima Prefecture

A large Japanese garden located near Hiroshima station. You can feed the colorful kois (carps), and take photos with the beautiful greenery and water in the background. There is no rush, enjoy walking around the garden.

Stop At: Hiroshima Prefectural Art Museum, 2-22 Kaminobori-Cho, Naka-Ku, Hiroshima 730-0014 Hiroshima Prefecture

A museum next to Shukkeien. After you have enjoyed the art of nature, it is time to enjoy artwork. They have arts with Japanese-style themes which vary depending on the exhibitions.

Stop At: Hiroshima Castle, 21-1 Motomachi, Naka-ku, Hiroshima 730-0011 Hiroshima Prefecture

The castles within Hiroshima city were destroyed by the atomic bomb and were rebuilt.
You can see how the castle used to look like before, and also climb the tower. They also have displays showing Bushi culture.

Stop At: Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, 1-2 Nakajima-cho, Naka-ku, Hiroshima 730-0811 Hiroshima Prefecture

The symbolic location of the atomic bomb, also known as Atomic Bomb Dome. The atomic bomb exploded almost directly overhead of this building leaving the city in disaster, and the memorial stands here as a reminder of this sad incident. It is a popular site for visitors.

Stop At: Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, 1-2 Nakajima-cho, Naka-ku, Hiroshima 730-0811 Hiroshima Prefecture

A large museum with many documents and explanations that will educate you about war and atomic bombs. The easy to understand displays demonstrate the cruelty of war and the importance of peace.

Duration: 50 minutes

Stop At: Ujina Lighthouse, 24 Motoujinamachi, Minami Ward, Hiroshima, 734-0012, Japan

It will take about 20 min by train from Hiroshima city to Hiroshima Port. Let’s walk along the ocean of Ujina up to the cape at the tip of the island where you can look at the beautiful sea.

A bar located at the top floor of the Grand Prince Hotel Hiroshima where you can look over Hiroshima city. This venue is not known as a sightseeing spot and only a select number of people know about and come to see the gorgeous view. Reflect on your day roaming around Hiroshima.
