In this 2-hour workshop held at a traditional Japanese merchant house brimming with historic charm, you can create your own Aizome reusable bag or stoles with the expert help of an experienced and dedicated instructor. Itinerary

This workshop takes place at a quaint Machiya, traditional wooden marchant house, located not far away from the world famous Himeji Castle. When you get there, you’ll first learn about Aizome including dyeing process and tools, then get started on making your own Aizome item. An eco-friendly reusable bag or stylish stoles (two of them), pick whichever you want to make! Or, you can bring your own stuff, such as a bandana or a t-shirt instead, and dye it blue. The instructor will guide you through every step of the way as you make an Aizome item that you can’t find anywhere else in the world by utilize string and rubber bands to leave unique patterns. While leaving it to dry, you’re welcome to browse inside the shop and enjoy looking at carefully handcrafted Aizome products with natural warmth and delicacy.
