This amazing tour starts in the city of Anjar which bears an outstanding witness to the Umayyad civilisation and is an example of an inland commercial centre, forming the crossroads of two of Lebanon’s most important routes; from Beirut to Damascus and from Homs to Tiberiade. Marvel as we travel through this ancient city which was only uncovered by archaeologists in the late 1940s.

From Anjar we move to Baalbek – considered to be among the wonders of the ancient world and home to the largest and most noble Roman temples ever built. The temples are well preserved in keeping with the power and wealth of the area, with notable local influences portrayed within their planning and layout; a contrast to the traditional Roman design. Baalbek also provides the option to engage a local tour guide (at an additional cost) who will share some of Baalbek’s secrets and provide a greater insight into Lebanon’s greatest Roman treasure.

What better way to finish the tour than with a visit to Chateau Ksara, the oldest winery in Lebanon! Whilst completely optional, the opportunity to tour the historic two-kilometre Roman caves which are home to some of the rarest and finest wine vintages, before finishing with a wine tasting experience is something few say no to!
