Puerto Aventuras Trip Overview
This 8-hour tour to the Tulum ruins is incredibly unique as there’s no nothing like seeing a 13th-century Mayan archaeological site from base while in the Caribbean Sea! It’s an awe-inspiring sight that’s truly unforgettable!
You’ll know when the tour reaches the Tulum ruins because you’ll see the Castillo (castle), the tallest building in these ruins and the most famous, with a commanding view from cliffside.
You can hop in and out of the water a the base of the ruins and swim and snorkel while the crew serves you snacks, ceviche lunch, and of course nice cold drinks from the open bar. After you snorkel here you can brag that you just snorkeled the second largest barrier reef in the world —the amazing Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System. This is an area where you can swim alongside sea turtles, stingrays, tropical fish and other marine life.
The other unique thing is you can troll fish off this vessel and the crew will prepare anything you reel in, fresh to eat in the moment.

This tour will take you to a view a Mayan archaeological site from the Caribbean Sea! It’s truly an awe-inspiring sight and a highlight or sure on this fantastic 8-hour tour.
We depart out of the Puerto Aventuras marina, cruise south down the Riviera Maya coastline towards Tulum. The trip down takes about two hours and you’ll know when we’ve arrived as you’ll see the spectacular Castillo (castle), the tallest building in these ruins and the most famous, with a commanding view from cliffside.
While at the base of the Tulum ruins, you may swim and snorkel or just admire the view of these ruins from sea level. The onboard bartender will serve you snacks, ceviche lunch, and of course nice cold drinks from the open bar. Hop in and out of the water as much as you’d like during this time. It’s an amazing reef area where you can swim alongside sea turtles, stingrays, tropical fish and other marine life.
Afterwards, we’ll cruise back north making our way to La Bocana. This is semi-sheltered reef area with chest-deep turquoise water and another fabulous snorkel stop. Remember, this is your private tour so ask our crew for drinks or food along the way and of course when you’re ready, they’ll prepare your next meal…delicious cheeseburgers fresh on our onboard grill. A great way to polish off a great day of snorkeling and swimming.
A unique thing to mention as well, if you enjoy fishing, you’ll love the fact that on our tours we troll fish. This is an activity that anyone on board can participate in. You can reel in your own catch! Whatever is caught that day can be prepared for you right there on board and eaten fresh if you so choose.
Finally, we’ll make a leisurely trip back to the marina and you’ll more than likely get to catch an incredible sunset over the jungle side of the Riviera Maya. Just another gorgeous perk of this tour.
This really is one of the best ways to experience the Riviera Maya, Mexico. We guarantee it!
