Itinerary

Day 1: Fez – Ifrane – Azrou – ErfoudMerzouga

Pass By: Merzouga, Merzouga, Draa-Tafilalet
Your driver will pick you up from your early and bright hotel and head to Merzouga, crossing the Middle Atlas and its beautiful cedar forests, where the nice Berber apes are found.

Along the way, you will cross the small town of Ifrane, popularly known as “The Little Switzerland of Morocco”, one of the most exclusive ski resorts in Morocco. Then, you will drive through Azrou, one of the most famous Berber cities in the country.

Then, cross the Ziz valley and its irregular gorges until you reach Midelt and Erfoud. From the last town, take a dirt road to Merzouga, a lovely town on the edge of the desert.

You will spend the first night in a hotel near the dunes.

Day 2: enjoying the dunes of Erg Chebbi

Pass By: Merzouga, Merzouga, Draa-Tafilalet
Spend the entire second day exploring the spectacular Merzouga desert. Tour the golden dunes in a 4×4, visit the nomadic villages, admire the beautiful oases and walk through the famous dunes of Erg Chebbi.

Next, visit the small town of Khamlia, where the Gnawa live. The Gnawa population is a descendant of slaves from Central Africa and is famous throughout the world for its beautiful folk music that combines classical Islamic Sufism with its traditions.

At night, they will take you back to your hotel where the camels will be waiting to take you to the heart of the dunes to spend a night in a Berber tent.

Day 3: Merzouga – Todgha Gorge – Ouarzazate

Pass By: Ouarzazate, Ouarzazate, Draa-Tafilalet
Wake up in the dark and sit on the top of a dune to witness an impressive sunrise. Then, get on a camel and return to the small town of Merzouga, where you will have breakfast and take a refreshing shower (depending on the type of camp, your breakfast and your shower could be before the camel ride).

On the way to Ouarzazate you will pass through Rissani and Tafilalet, where the Alawite dynasty of Morocco originates. Next, you will head to the impressive Todgha Gorge, in the Dades Valley, located in the center of the High Atlas Mountains.

Leave the Dades Valley behind and take the thousand Kasbahs route, admiring the Valley of the Roses and the palm grove of Skoura on the way. Finally, you will arrive at Ouarzazate, where you will spend the night.

Day 4: Ouarzazate – Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou – Marrakech

Pass By: Marrakech, Marrakech, Marrakech-Safi
After a hearty breakfast, you will be taken to the Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou, one of the most famous fortified cities in the world. Numerous films have been set in this charming place, including Gladiator. You will enter the ruins of the Kasbah to discover its rich history and its secrets.

On our way to Marrakech, you will cross a valley full of almond trees and the picturesque Berber villages: Amerzgane, Agouim and Ighrem. Go up to the depths of the Atlas through the Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass, 2,260 meters high, and stop to eat a traditional Moroccan meal in Tadart.

After lunch, return to the car and return to Marrakech.
