Lalla Takerkoust Trip Overview

Departure from Marrakech at 9am, and drive to Imlil Valley passing by Moulay Brahim Gorges and Asni centre; well-known with its weekly Berber market every Saturday. After a further we arrive in Imlil (1,740m); a starting point of several trekking and walking options through the High Atlas valleys and Berber villages including Mount Toubkal (4167m); the highest summit in North Africa. Here you will leave our vehicle to take a welcome glass of mint tea in the village and meet your local mountain guide prior to setting out for your hike which takes around 3-4 hrs walking. The route takes you towards the south to the Berber village of Aremd at 2000m passing the hamlets of Ait Souka, Targa, Imoula, with a stop to see Tagartoun Waterfall. From Aremd village you will be able to enjoy a panoramic view over the neighbouring villages and the high Atlas Peaks such as Mount Toubkal, Aguelzim summit, Adrar el Hadj, Tamatert pass, Mzik pass and Asaoul.

What to Expect When Visiting Lalla Takerkoust, Marrakech-Safi, Morocco

Stop At: Asni, Asni, Marrakech-Safi

At 9AM we come to pick you up from your Hotel, To start our unforgettable cultural day trip towards the Toubkal massif Atlas Mountains and its deep valleys. After few kilometres driving to the south, we will stop just before reaching our first valley of Asni to take pictures of the oldest berber village of Azrou, The drive continues further into the Atlas valleys to reach an altitude of 1200m near the Moulay Brahim gorges where we will leave the car to take photos. We will then make our way to the green Imlil valley; my home village where my family is waiting to welcoming us with a fresh cup of mint tea before serving a 3 course meal ( salad, tagine or berber couscous) on an open rooftop with an extremely wide view over the whole valley.

Here you will have the opportunity to exchange the culture and learn about the basic lifestyle of the locals. After lunch I will be happy to take you for a unique and scenic (2 to 3 hours) walk through the green walnut fields and the typical berber villages before driving back to Your Hotel In Marrakech. During this very flexible tour, I will be very happy to give you a full insight into the Berber culture and to share with you all my knowledge. We get back to Marrakech at around 5pm.
