Chefchaouen, or Chaouen, is a city in the Rif Mountains in northwest Morocco. It is known for the beautiful blue buildings of its old town. Leather and weaving workshops line its cobbled streets. On the main shaded square of Place Outa el Hammam, you will find the Kasbah with red walls, a fortress and a dungeon from the 15th century, and the ethnographic museum of Chefchouen. The octagonal minaret of the Great Mosque stands nearby.
