What to Expect When Visiting Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands

Stop At: Rotterdam, Rotterdam, South Holland Province
The first stop is Rotterdam. Important architect designed buildings has risen here. And still this area offers echoes of a fascinating history. In the famous Hotel New York we have a coffee break.

Stop At: Eastern Scheldt Storm Surge Barrier, 4675 RB Vrouwenpolder, Netherlands
After Rotterdam we go southwards to Zeeland. We first visit the Oosterscheldekering, the largest Delta Works of the Netherlands.

Stop At: Middelburg, Middelburg, Zeeland Province
In the city of Middelburg you’ll visit the 15th century town hall. And after the lunch you’ll enjoy the late gothic abbey, where the Four Freedoms Awards are awarded every two years.

The ancestors of presidents Theodore and Franklin Delano and first lady Eleanor were farmers on a Dutch island. So after lunch a polder is waiting for you. A polder on the island of Tholen, which was in the 17th century the birthplace of the Roosevelts. The polder is near the village of Oud-Vossemeer. In the old town hall of this village you’ll learn more about the roots of the Roosevelts. You now understand why the villagers here have such a strong bond with the Roosevelts and America. It will never be forgotten that the charismatic Eleanor with the world press in her wake visited the village in 1950. At the end of the day we have diner in Oud-Vossemeer. In a restaurant located on the picturesque village square, you can then enjoy a delicious fish or other meal with perhaps a delicious specially brewed Roosevelt beer.This tour is a search for the roots of the ever-inspiring presidential family.
