Small-group Dutch Food and History Walking Tour in Amsterdam’s Jordaan Area

Amsterdam Trip Overview

Discover the history of Amsterdam, its culture and community on a relaxing small-group food tour that is fun and interesting for all through the idyllic 17th-century Jordaan.

Depending on the day and season, you’ll visit the best spots to sample the surprisingly versatile Dutch cuisine and learn how it’s connected to Amsterdam’s rich history. In some places you get a look behind the scenes of our food partners and they are happy to tell you what makes their place and food so unique.

We will also show you some of our favourite restaurants to make your choice for a special dinner in Amsterdam a little easier.

What makes our tour really unique is that it is different every time. Because we are all very experienced and independent guides who have lived in Amsterdam for decades, a tour with us is not a standard scripted story but a warm and interactive meeting with each other and Amsterdam.

Stop At: The Jordaan, Amsterdam The Netherlands

The tour goes through the 17th century Jordaan neighbourhood. A former working-class area with a turbulent past that is now one of the most popular neighbourhoods among the residents because of the typical Dutch ‘gezelligheid’. With its small streets, charming houses , flowery canals and family run boutique shops, cafes and restaurants, everyone feels at ease here.

We like to vary the 8 food stops we take you to depending on the day, crowds or the season. But the first, middle and last tasting is always in a cafe or restaurant with seatings and toilets available.
