A unique and challenging opportunity for avid hikers to explore one of Oman’s best adventure hikes. A mix of history, culture and geographical wonders. It can be combined with other activities and visits prior to or after the hike, offering guests the opportunity to explore this region of the country: wadis, mountains, beaches and historical cities.
Itinerary
A fantastic 2-day adventure hike across the Eastern Hajar Mountains from Wadi Tiwi to Wadi Bani Khalid. Each day involves between 7-9 hours of hiking. The route is remote and follows the old donkey trails over Salma Plateau over a distance of 42km. The views are outstanding with an abundance of geological features throughout. Guests should be physically fit, experienced hikers and be prepared with the correct hiking equipment. The group is fully supported throughout with an experienced guide and support team, which allows guests to walk with day-packs only meeting the rest of their kit at the campsite – vehicular support only available on various sections of the trip. Camping equipment is included with meals and water provided. Safety is paramount: we are outdoor first aid trained, carry a first aid kit, stretcher and satellite phone for emergencies. Our company is fully licensed to conduct such activities in Oman and other destinations and holds tour operator liability insurance for the activities offered.
