You will discover over 1000 years of Jewish history in one hour thanks to
four, not accidentally, selected items from everyday life and four amazing personalities behind them. We will propose a totally new approach to the Jewish culture of Krakow.
Itinerary
We will discover together a fascinating world of Jewish Krakow following the most fascinating personalities connected with the city. I will tell you why and when Ashkenazi Jews came to the city and which language they spoken, how and why many Jewish traditions changed between medieval ages and modern times, what happened during the partition of Poland and WWII and where it is possible to find traces of Jewish culture now. We will go deeper into some Jewish rites and traditions, get to know who the venerable Remuh was and will discover a true story behind the “mythical” Oskar Schindler. I will show you also some photos. Among others: the courtyard where Steven Spielberg filmed fragments of his famous movie “Schindler List” and a real house of the Queen of Beauty – Helena Rubinstein.
