Guided Tour From Porto To Guimaraes

Porto Trip Overview

GUIMARÃES located in the Minho Region where we find the reason for our nationality. The cradle of Portugal is in the town of
Guimarães, that takes us to visit the castle, where the first King of Portugal was born; the chapel, where he was christened and next to it the Palace of the «Duques de Bragança». The historical centre of Guimarães was classified by UNESCO as World Heritage in 2001 and is an excellent example of the transformation of a medieval settlement into a modern town, keeping its own features still with part of the old wall that protects the town. The current city of Guimarães knew how to blend, in the best way possible, history and the consequent maintenance of the heritage with the dynamism and entrepreneurship that characterise modern cities, which resulted in the nomination for European Capital for Culture 2012.

Itinerary: Departure from Porto to… Guimarães; Visit to the Castle of Guimarães, to the historical centre classified as World Heritage, Arrival in Porto.
