Day 1: !Khwa ttu San Guided Tour | West Coast National Park | Langebaan

Stop At: Khwa ttu San Culture & Education Centre, West Coast Road, R27, Yzerfontein, 7351, South Africa
We depart Cape Town at about 08:00 in the morning and head toward !Khwa ttu for a fascinating tour into the culture, heritage, knowledge, skills and contemporary life of the San.

Stop At: West Coast National Park, West Coast National Park, Western Cape
We visit the West Coast National Park. Here a rich diversity of bird species may be observed in great numbers. Over 250 species have been recorded in the area. In spring and early summer visitors can enjoy sights of beautiful flowers. It is possible to spend hours in peace drinking in the beauty of the wide stretches of beaches that line the shores of the Atlantic Ocean.

Stop At: Langebaan, Langebaan, Saldanha Bay Municipality, Western Cape
After the visit to the West Coast National Park, we make our way to our overnight destination in Langebaan.

Day 2: West Coast Fossil Park | Cape Columbine Nature Reserve

Stop At: West Coast Fossil Park, R 45 – Langebaanweg, Vredenburg, Saldanha Bay Municipality 7395 South Africa
This morning gives us plenty of time to visit the West Coast Fossil Park near Saldanha Bay. West Coast Fossil Park, a National Heritage Site is world-renowned for its exceptionally well-preserved fossil faunal remains that date to the terminal Miocene/early Pliocene. On the 45-minute guided tour, you’ll see fossils lying exactly as excavated. A remarkable number of species are represented at the site, making the region one of the most diverse Mio-Pliocene occurrences in the world. Finds encompass bears, saber-tooth cats, various wild pigs, aardvarks, an extinct okapi-sized giraffe or sivatheres, hunting hyena and at least three species of elephant including the first mammoths. Approximately 860 sq. feet of the fossil bed is exposed and open for viewing.

Stop At: Cape Columbine Nature Reserve Tietiesbaai, Paternoster, Saldanha Bay Municipality South Africa
We continue on our expedition with a visit to the coastal village of Paternoster. This part of the coast is rich in rock lobster, perlemoen and other seafood. Three kilometers down the road from Paternoster, you reach a lighthouse called Cape Columbine, named after the shipwreck which occurred here in 1929. The 9 million candle-power lighthouse and radio beacon is a major navigational point for ships approaching the coast of Southern Africa from Europe and America.

Day 3: Durbanville Hills Wine Valley

Stop At: Durbanville Hills Winery, Tygerberg Valley Rd, Cape Farms, Cape Town, 7550, South Africa
A return journey to Cape Town takes us through Durbanville while enjoying spectacular views of Table Mountain and Table Bay. We stop at Durbanville Hills Winery for some wine tasting.
