What to Expect When Visiting Cape Town Central, Western Cape, South Africa

Itinerary

Day 1: Full Day Cape Town Tour Including Table Mountain, Penguins & Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve

Stop At: Table Mountain National Park 8001 South Africa
After pick up at your hotel, we will start with the Table Mountain experience where your personal guide/driver will take you up the cable car to explore the Table top
Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Camps Bay, Camps Bay, Western Cape
We will make our way through Mouille Point, Three Anchor Bay, Sea Point, Bantry Bay, Clifton and then a photo stop at Maiden’s Cove
Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Duiker Island, Hout Bay South Africa
Our journey continues along the picturesque coastline and stopping in Hout Bay Harbour. Here, guests have the option to either take a boat to Seal Island to view the Seals or visit the market for some shopping. The seal Island in Hout Bay is a beautiful experience not to be missed when the ocean is calm. (We do not recommend this experience when the sea condition is unfavorable.) We will spend approximately an hour here to explore this activity and there is also a market where you could bargain for gifts and souvenirs. The best fish & chips in Cape Town can be purchased as a takeaway or sit down at Mariner’s Wharf Restaurant at your own account. Kindly ask your tour guide for more details.

Stop At: Chapman’s Peak Drive, Hout Bay Road Between Noordhoek and Hout Bay, 7872 South Africa
Once we depart from Hout Bay we will make our way around the world renowned Chapman’s Peak Drive. This road will be used subject to it being operational. We will stop off at the viewing point for a 15 minute photo stop. Please note that all clients are requested to please stay within the demarcated places throughout this tour to ensure your safety.

Stop At: Noordhoek Farm Village, Corner of Village Lane & Noordhoek Main Road Chapman’s Peak Drive, Noordhoek 7979 South Africa
We will have a quick stop in the Noordhoek area for you to enjoy an optional coffee at the Village Roast for your own account. Some of the best coffees in the city is brewed here

Stop At: Cape Point Ostrich Farm, M65, Main Road, Cape Point Cape Point, Cape Town Central 7985 South Africa
We will continue our tour through Kommetjie, Misty Cliffs and Scarborough. Thereafter, we will stop at the Ostrich Farm for a quick visit. This is a breeding farm that accommodates 40 breeding birds.

Stop At: Cape of Good Hope, Cape Point Rd, Table Mountain National Park 8001 South Africa
Our tour culminates with the Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point Lighthouse. Here we will explore the Dias & Vasco Da Gama, Crosses. These two gentlemen were the first early Europeans who arrived in Cape Town around 1487 & 1495. Should you wish to hike, please speak to your guide. Kindly put on comfortable walking shoes, bring sun block and a jersey or jacket and hat.

Stop At: Old Cape Point Lighthouse, Cape Point Nature Reserve, Cape Point South Africa
From the Cape of Good Hope, we will have the option to either take a short hike to Cape Point or take the Funicular. Lunch can also be enjoyed at either Two Oceans restaurant for a sit-down meal or at the informal eatery for a take out for your own account. Here we will also explore the most south-western point of Africa, known as the Cape Point, where the cold Benguela from the Atlantic Ocean, meets the warm Agulhas current of the Indian Ocean. We will explore the lighthouse, etc.

Stop At: Boulders Beach Penguin Colony, Simon’s Town 7995 South Africa
Our next stop will be the Penguins colony in Boulders beach, where your guide will escort you to the viewing point to see some of the 2500 breeding pairs of African Penguins at close range. You may even find one or two of these enchanting creatures walking alongside you on the boardwalk.

Stop At: Groot Constantia Estate Groot Constantia Road, Constantia 7806 South Africa
Our return route is passing through Fish Hoek, Kalk Bay and Muizenberg. From here, we will visit our last stop at Groot Constantia Wine Estate for a private wine tasting experience where you will taste top wines produced at this world renowned winery.

Day 2: Full Day to discover Robben Island Museum & Explore African Premier Botanical Gardens – Kirstenbosch Gardens

Stop At: Cape Town Central, Cape Town Central, Western Cape
We will pick you up at your accommodation in Cape Town and surrounding areas at 8:00 am by a qualified tour guide/driver and transfer you to the Nelson Mandela Gateway – at the Clocktower Precinct in the V & A Waterfront for your boat departure.
Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Robben Island Museum, Cape Town Central 7400 South Africa
Please note that your tour guide/driver will not be joining you on the boat or at the island as there will be a resident sight guide on the island who will give you a guided tour. The ferry boat will set sail to Robben Island. The entire tour duration will be up to 3.5 hours including ferry journey times. When you reach the island, you will disembark at Murray’s Bay Harbour and take a brief walk to the bus that will transport you around the island. A former political prisoner will give you a guided tour. This includes a viewing of Nelson Mandela’s cell. After the tour, you will return to the Clocktower Precinct at the V&A Waterfront at approximately 12:30. Your tour guide/driver will be waiting to welcome you back at the port and offer you an option to enjoy lunch at the many eateries/restaurants in the V&A Waterfront for your own account.

Stop At: Bo-Kaap, Bo-Kaap, Western Cape
We begin in the heart of the city in Adderley street where you will view historical monuments like Bartholomew Dias, Jan van Riebeeck and Zackarias Waganaer Reservoir. Thereafter see some heritage museums like the Slave Lodge and Cape Castle. View the City Hall and the Company Gardens and proceed past the House of Parliament. Stop at the Bo Kaap where to see the Colourful houses in the Cape Quarter and stop to take some photos and greet the locals if they are in sight.

Stop At: Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, Rhodes Drive, Newlands 7735 South Africa
We will now make our way to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Alternatively, you could have some lunch at Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden Moyo Restaurant. Please take note that lunch will be at own account. Kirstenbosch was founded in 1913 and was established to preserve South Africa’s unique flora and indigenous plants. With over 7 000 species in cultivation today, the garden forms the perfect display of fynbos and forest that is easily explored and enjoyed by locals and tourists via a number of walks and trails.

Day 3: Full Day & Overnight Safari Experience At Inverdoorn Game Reserve

Stop At: Cape Town Central, Cape Town Central, Western Cape
We will collect you at your Cape Town hotel and surrounding areas and we will embark on a 2-hour scenic and beautiful drive passing the Huguenot tunnel and landscaping Ceres.
Duration: 2 hours

Pass By: Ceres, Ceres, Witzenberg Municipality, Western Cape
Ceres is the fruit growing region of the Western Cape Province and we will pass many grapes and wines farms en route to the famous Inverdoorn Game Reserve.

Stop At: Inverdoorn Private Game Reserve, 112 Loop Street Breede River, Cape Town Central 8060 South Africa
Upon arrival, you will sign in at reception and your Safari experience will begin with a welcoming round of refreshments.

After your breathtaking Safari experience, you could relax at the poolside and soak yourself in the beautiful pool. Kindly remember to bring swimming costumes. Bathing towels will be provided at the reserve. Alternatively, you could choose to relax in front of the fireplace. Enjoy lunch under the trees in the open-air or in the boma-style restaurant. Later, experience an exciting early evening game drive and bush sunset with big cats. This adventure is sure to have you on the edge of your seat. The evening will be the most amazing 5-course dinner you could imagine in the game reserve.

Day 4: Morning Game Drive then Discover the beautiful Cape Town Winelands – Franschhoek, Paarl & Stellenbosch

Stop At: Inverdoorn Private Game Reserve, 112 Loop Street Breede River, Cape Town Central 8060 South Africa
Welcome in the following morning with a breakfast that includes either coffee or tea. This will prepare you for the 2-hour game drive in a 4×4 with an open-air roof; ideal for viewing the game.
Time permitting, you will walk with the giraffes at the game ranger’s discretion.

Stop At: Groot Drakenstein Prison (Victor Verster Prison), R301, Paarl South Africa
You will return to Cape Town via the Huguenot Tunnel with a drive through Franschhoek. Included will be a stop at the prison where Nelson Mandela was freed on the 11th of February 1990. Take a photo with the Nelson Mandela monument.
