What to Expect When Visiting Cape Town Central, Western Cape, South Africa

You will be picked up at your accommodation between 08:30 and 09:30 AM by our accredited tour guide/driver in a minibus and head off on a full-day Cape Winelands tour. We will visit Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhok, we will follow that wine route in all it’s magnificent features. You will enjoy wine tasting up to 6 wine estates and also enjoy a town orientation tour in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek.

The second oldest town in South Africa, Stellenbosch. It is known for its natural beauty and oak-lined avenues, Cape Dutch architecture, history,culture and wine routes. Here you will go to wine estates you will never forget.

After we leave Lanzerac wine estate we will pop in at Delaire Graff Estate, where you will be left breathless by the art, architecture, gardens and food.

Stop At: Franschhoek, Franschhoek, Western Cape

Franshhoek can be loosely translated to French corner. An area which was given to the French huggenots of the 1680s to grow vineyards. Surrounded by the Drankenstein mountains, when you are in Franschhoek, you could be anywhere near the world. Colonial whitewashed buildings graces the vibrant streets of the food capital city of South Africa. A behive of shopping, Beligian chocolate tasting and the very best place to have lunch.

A few minutes drive from Stellenbosch town center lies Lazerac, it is well known to many as a well appointed and elegant country hotel resting within the beautiful Jonkershoek valley. But Lanzerac is more than just a hotel. The historic homestead which bears the 1830 on its gable and lies on the ground that was given to its first owner 140 years earlier also presides over vineyards and also a winery that together produces excellent wines, both red and white .
It is also known to be the first winery to bottle a native South African wine called Pinotage. A chocolate and wine pairing here is conducted by well knowledgeable Sommelier.

Paarl is the third oldest settlement in South Africa, It is steeped in history, culture, natural splendor, and a centuries-old tradition of wine making.
In 1657, Abraham Gebemma set out from the Cape in search of resources. On his journey, he came across a giant granite rock gleaming in the distance. He called this Paarl Mountain, and it is known today as Paarl Rock. It is the second largest granite outcrop in the world. it also features the Taal Monument, which is a celebration of the Afrikaans language.
The Paarl Wine Route, which is the second oldest in the country, is known for its full-bodied spicy reds and crisp whites.

We will continue to Fairview Vineyards and Goats Cheese for a cheese and wine tasting . Purchase your favorite cheese and condiments from the deli, as well as wine from a choice of 3 ranges in the tasting room. (Wine tasting fees excluded).

Stop At: Groot Drakenstein Prison (Victor Verster Prison), R301, Paarl South Africa

As we follow along this route, we will stop in front of Drakenstein Prison to see the Nelson Mandela Monument. The prison is where Nelson Mandela spent his last days of incarceration before his walk to freedom.
