Coming to the end of this scenic drive is Chapman’s bay or Long beach which is one of the 10 blue flag beaches in Cape Town. It is an 8 km long unspoiled beach with pure white sand and a shipwreck right in the centre. Time permitting take a horse ride the length and breath of the beach.

Visit this iconic landmark, a place which shaped trade between East and West since the its discovery. Take a 10 min walk up to the upper funicular station before you take a flight of 62 steps to the lighthouse.
Alternatively take a ride in the funicular to the top before you take a healthy hike to the light house. Look out for the second lighthouse which was built after the first was condemned as it could not serve its purpose.
