Our first stop in Stellenbosch is at Oom Samie Se Winkel (uncle Samie’s store) it is the oldest existing general dealer in South Africa, a Victorian style store that operate the same way as it did back in the Victorian era. It is an institution in Stellenbosch continuing the fine old tradition of the rural trading post, Oom Samie Se Winkel stocks everything. Once inside you are transported back more than 100 years ago the shelves are fill with relics as well as proudly South African products.

Stellenbosch is filled with history, beauty and a strong focus on culture. We will walk the oldest historical part of Stellenbosch Dorp street ‘the wagon way” also declared a National monument. The street was the original road between Cape Town & Stellenbosch a wagon route used for transporting goods and post. The street features a number of old buildings and gables with a variety of architectural styles from Cape Dutch to Victorian. Most definitely a walk down memory lane.

This visionary release marked the birth of Pinotage as a unique variety from South Africa. To get the action going we have selected a Wine & chocolate pairing for you to experience. Most guest have only one short word to describe this tour – YUM!
What could be more delicious than the taste of melting chocolate on your tongue and then swirl some delightful wine over it to create a taste sensation like heaven in your mouth.
