What to Expect When Visiting Madrid, Community of Madrid, Spain
A unique experience of a tour and writing class. We follow unnoticed signs and details in three different neighborhoods in Madrid. You choose the neighborhood, we tailor the experience to your interests. We practice writing, pay attention to details, learn stories, and experience the smells, sights, emotions, people, and sounds of the oldest neighborhoods. Places so often walked down but rarely noticed. Being a professional writer and teacher, I am more than prepared to guide you through a different kind of tour, interactive, and unique.
Itinerary
we will follow historic markers as we take in details, write, and hear stories about history, politicians, artists, authors, composers and musicians, and many more. (Stories and personalities and details not on regular tours!)
At the end of our 2 hours, you’ll have the chance to share your writing in the beautiful Plaza Oriental by the Royal Palace and Opera.
You will have the chance to choose from 3 different historic artistic neighborhoods:
1) La Latina, Madrid’s oldest neighborhood of artists and writers
2) Las Letras (the Literary Quarter) where many famous artists and authors lived, worked, and died.
3) Opera where many musicians, actors, and other artists lived and worked.
The varied sights of old Madrid will inspire your inner poet and storyteller.
