The Chordeleg canton is a small town belonging to the province of Azuay, this place was designated by UNESCO as “Creative City” because in this picturesque place we can observe: Toquilleras (women who make handicrafts made with toquilla straw) artifacts elaboration in mud and crafts in general. We must take into account that the main attraction of Chordeleg are the jewelers, where we can find a number of pieces in gold and silver, where the earrings known as “candongas” made in silver and gold filigree stand out.
