Teguise is the old capital of Lanzarote and the venue for the Sunday market. Also known as “la Villa”, the city has a unique charm. Many of the 17th century buildings have beautiful wood and stone carvings around the doors and windows, so don’t forget your camera! Every Sunday, locals and tourists visit the city to try their bartering skills.
Many different stalls line the old cobbled streets with all sorts of goods such as clothes, shoes, ceramics, handbags, paintings, toys and many other handicrafts. Don’t forget to haggle! All shops and bars are also open. In the center of the city, the church square, groups of musicians entertain the whole morning with pan flute music and folk dance. You will have to spend approximately 3 hours in the market before returning to your pick up point.
