Buddhima, her mother, and two children Mandil and Sandun (when they are home) will welcome you into their rustic, family home in the countryside of Kandy. They live in a small village near the Gadaladeniya temple in a leafy neighborhood. Roll up your sleeves and learn to cook in her small kitchen Sri Lankan curries using her mother’s secret recipes. Your private cooking class will last an hour – you will learn to make dhal (lentils cooked in coconut milk), fish or cassava (tapioca) curry and a regional vegetable dish like banana flower. Armed with a wealth of knowledge about the spices and ingredients used in Sri Lankan cooking, enjoy the meal you helped prepare with the whole family over refreshing beer!
