Nuwara Eliya – Little England 2 Day Tour

Colombo Trip Overview

When you ask people about Sri Lanka’s ‘must go’ destinations, Nuwara Eliya is always top of peoples list. The city of Nuwara Eliya; the so-called ‘Little England’ of Sri Lanka; lies amongst the steep hills and valleys of the Central Highlands. Once an idyllic little town made completely of Colonial era structures; it has now grown its own business center full of modern buildings; and bustles with tourists both local and otherwise. With temperatures ranging between 10 and 20 degrees, Nuwara Eliya’s temperate climate lends it the feeling of permanently being in spring. Carpeted in flowers and usually cloaked in thick sleepy mists, the town was a favorite resort for tea planters during British Colonial rule.
