Itinerary

Day 1: Airport / Negombo > Habarana. ( travel 152 km – 3 h & 40 min)

Stop At: Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress, Sigiriya 21120 Sri Lanka
Visit Sigiriya rock fortress UNESCO world heritage site of 3rd century, including museum, water garden, terrace garden, bolder garden, lion’s feet, and the ruins of the palace on the summit. ( Entry fees – USD 30 per adult & USD 15 per child)

Day 2: Visit Polonnaruwa ruins & privet jeep safari in Minneriya NP.

Stop At: Polonnaruwa Vatadage, Sacred City, Polonnaruwa Sri Lanka
Travel to Polonnaruwa (1 h).Visit Polonnaruwa UNESCO world heritage site by cycles. You will visit all the top attractions in Polonnaruwa including, Royal Palace, Audience Hall, The Sacred Quadrangle, Shiva Devale, Pabalu Vehera, Rankot Vihara, Kiri Vihara, Lankatilaka Buddha Statue & Gal Vihara with a group of Buddha postures that are carved out from a long granite slab. ( Entry fees – USD 25 per adult & USD 12.5 per child)

Stop At: Minneriya National Park, Maradankadawala-Habarana-Thirukkondaiadimadu Highway, 50150 Sri Lanka
After the lunch you can commence a privet jeep safari at Minneriya national park from 15:00 to 18:30 pm. It is the largest known meeting place of Asian Elephants in the world. Huge herd of elephants, sometimes numbering up to 300, can be seen together within a few square kilometers of the Minneriya lake. Day 3: Habarana – Kandy (110 km – 2 h & 45 min)

Stop At: Dambulla Cave Temple, Jaffna Hwy, Habarana 50150 Sri Lanka
Visit Dambulla caves & a spice garden on the way. The cave temple consists of a complex of Buddhist image houses. Its rock ceiling is one large sweep of colorful frescoes, some of which dates back to over 2,000 years. ( Entry fees – USD 10 per adult & USD 5 per child)

Stop At: Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, Sri Dalada Veediya, Kandy 20000 Sri Lanka
Sri Dalada Maligawa or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a Buddhist temple in the city of Kandy, Sri Lanka. It is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, which houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha.( Entry fees – USD 12 per adult & USD 6 per child)

Day 4: Kandy > Nuwaraeliya > Ella (140 km – 4 h).

Nuwara Eliya is a city in the tea country hills of central Sri Lanka. The naturally landscaped & it is the most beautiful city of the island.It is at an altitude of 1,868 m (6,128 ft).

Great informative tea factory tour to learn about the tea processes. Lovely views of the plantation and the tea picking ladies and a great taste of the tea after.

Stop At: Ramboda Waterfall, Pussellawa Sri Lanka
Ramboda Falls is 109 m high and 11th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka and 729th highest waterfall in the world. It is situated in Pussellawa area, on the A5 highway at Ramboda Pass. It formed by Panna Oya which is a tributary of Kothmale Oya. Altitude of the falls is 945 m above sea level.

Stop At: Nanu Oya, Nanu Oya, Central Province
Scenic train ride from Nanuoya to Ella.
After lunch proceed to Nanuoya railway station to take the train to Ella (scenic train trip). This is one fabulous way of exploring the tea country & the mountains in Sri Lanka. Driver guide will come to Ella railway station by the with your luggage and meet you.

Day 5: Ella > Yala. (95 km – 2 h & 35 min)

Stop At: Little Adam’s Peak, Passara Road, Ella 90090 Sri Lanka
It is 1141 m in height. Little Adam’s Peak attracts many travelers who come to Sri Lanka. Gradually with an easy hike up to the mountain of Little Adams Peak you can consummation a worth panoramic view. You have to walk through lush green tea plantations, waterfalls and paddy fields while enjoying the sceneries.It will be priceless if you could visit the place in the morning when the clouds roll in.

Stop At: Nine Arches Bridge, Ella Sri Lanka
The Nine Arch Bridge also called the Bridge in the Sky, is a viaduct bridge in Sri Lanka. It is one of the best examples of colonial-era railway construction in the country.It is allowed to walk on the bridge and it’s one of the things you must do in Sri Lanka.

Stop At: Yala National Park Sri Lanka
Yala boasts one of the world’s densest leopard populations. However, don’t expect to see them prowling around in their thousands – there are less than fifty. Also expect to see elephants, sloth bears, sambar deer, spotted deer, wild boar, crocodiles, monkeys and buffaloes. (all-inclusive privet jeep safari – USD 50 per adult and USD 25 per child)

The most traditional method of fishing in southern Sri Lanka is called as Stilt fishing.Sunrise and dusk are the ideal times to see them. This is actually looks like an art.

Stop At: Galle Fort, Church Street, Galle 80000 Sri Lanka
Galle Fort in the Bay of Galle on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka, was built first in 1588 by the Portuguese, then extensively fortified by the Dutch during the 17th century from 1649 onwards. The fort has a colorful history, and today has a multi-ethnic and multi-religious population.

Stop At: Sea Turtle Farm Galle Mahamodara, 417 D/1, Colombo Road, Galle 80000 Sri Lanka
An amazing facility whose goal is to increase turtle numbers in Sri Lanka by collecting the turtle eggs laid on the beach and reburying them in safer sands until they hatch. They keep the baby turtles for a couple of days before being released back to the ocean. The facility also houses the injured turtles until they are well again (injuries caused by fishing nets, predators etc) and makes a home for the deformed and permanently injured turtles.
We were allowed to hold a baby turtle and see an albino turtle.
