DAY 1 AIRPORT-SIGIRIYA
Travel Duration 04 Hrs.

Before arriving at your overnight destination take a stop at Dambulla to visit Cave Rock Temple which lies atop a massive hill on the edge of the town. It is one of the UNESCO world heritage sites in the country.
Dambulla Temple
Enter the historic caves of the Golden Temple dating back to the 1st century BC.View the ancient murals depicting the life story of Lord Gautama Buddha. Look at the hundreds of figurines of Buddha and other deities scattered throughout the five main caves. Visit the Cave of the Divine King, Cave of the Great King and the Great New Monastery. See the giant golden Buddha Statue just a little distance outside the cave complex.

DAY 2 SIGIRIYA
Early in the morning to avoid the crowds, you visit Sigiriya rock fortress whose massive rock overlooks the village with its 200 meters height. Your guide will make you discover the different parts of the site, the cave with the frescoes of Demoiselles, the gardens and ruins of Kasyapa Palace at the top. This site owes its reputation to this megalomaniac king who built his residence in the tenth century. Classified at UNESCO, it is the most visited site in Sri Lanka.
Sigiriya Rock Fortress
Climb the 5th century AD rock fortress, Sigiriya, where the King Kasyapa ruled. Walk through the entrance framed by the paws of a lion that is quite appropriate for its name, ‘ the Lion Rock’. View the beautiful unfading murals that brought Sigiriya its fame. Climb the steep staircase to see the terraced gardens and still-working cisterns. Walk through the tunnels leading to the palace as you get a feel for times long past.

Local Village Experience in Sigiriya

Minneriya National Park is located between Habarana and Polonnaruwa. Covered an area of 8890 hectares park is an ideal place for elephant and leopard watching. The vegetation of this park is mixed evergreen and scrub areas. The important feature of this park is that 3rd century built Minneriya Tank is located in the park. During the dry season Minneriya tank becomes the ideal place to observe its natural wild life. Minneriya National Park is home to 24 species of mammals,160 species of birds , 75 species of butterflies, 9 species of amphibians, 26 species of fish and 25 species of reptiles.

Upon arrival at the Nanu Oya railway Station, your driver will be there to pick you up and make a stop in Nuwara Eliya, a small town with a very British vibe, with its Georgian houses with manicured lawns and hedges, its Anglican church and its beautiful parks. Located at over 1,800 meters above sea level, this resort enjoys very mild temperatures.

DAY 7 HATTON- ADAM’S PEAK-NEGEMBO
Early morning by 2 am start the hike to Adam’s Peak.The season starts from December, January to March period is particularly busy time to climb. Other months see less traffic, and therefore the many stalls lining the path are not open during the “low” season. So bringing food and especially water is important. Many people attempt the ascent in the early hours of the morning, with the goal of seeing the sunrise, others climb in the afternoon to see the sundown. In either cases, torches are needed to see at night, even with full moon. Travelling in groups is always advisable.
