Stop At: Dambadeniya Maliga Gala, Dambadeniya Sri Lanka

Dambadeniya is a ruined city which was selected as an Ancient Kingdom by King Vijayabahu II. The ruins of this Kingdom can still be seen in the top of Maliga Gala where there are ruins of the kings’ palace and the ponds. This rock has also been used as a fort. Surrounding the beautiful architectures with breathtaking beauty enrich the walk to the top of the hill. The top of the location is windy yet a peaceful location.

Stop At: Yapahuwa Rock Fortress, Yapahuwa Sri Lanka

Although it is not that famous, Yaphuwa kingdom hold a major place in the history and culture of Sri Lanka. King Buvenekabahu I used this as their kingdom. The wind which blows as you enter the Rock Fortress will caress your body. The carvings and architectural artifacts holds the pride of the creators of the Kingdom. It is also the home to the Sri Lankas first ever Lion Sculpture with Chinese Features. The ornamental stairway which was built to conduct the royal palace remains to be the most magnificent feature yet. AT the top of this Magnificent stairway you can find the impressive doorway which lead to the Temple of Tooth where Lord Buddha’ Relic was placed.

Paduwasnuwara was used as an ancient Kingdom and capital by King Pandukabaya in the 12th Century. There ruins of the ancient buildings of the Kingdom of Paduwasnuwara can still be seen spread across 20 hectares. The most exciting and interesting part of the tour to the Kingdom of Paduwasnuwara is its folklore. The most important folklore story is the story of Unmada Chithra which is like a Modern Day Rapunzel Story.
