This tour is run by Lampang pony welfare foundation to support horse welfare and help to create an income distribution for the community. Journey is an audio guided tour on a pony drawn carriage for 2 hours. You will travel around ancient sites as well as visit Lampang’s main temples (UNESCO site), horse carriage association, Baan Sao nak (teak house with over 100 pillars) , old community , Ratchada bridge and historical route through the 1300 year old town.
As you enjoy your time on a hundred year old tradition and appreciate the beauty and charm of the old town you will also learn the most important and unique aspect of this journey. The Thai Native Pony that will be drawing these carts carry ancient DNA that goes back to the 9th century and are among the last “natural breeds” on earth!
