Wondering Reindeer is Sami reindeer experience company ho is offering guests authentic Sami adventures.
We offer guests a small group tour (16pers) around Kvaløya island with majestic mountains and arctic fjords. During the trip around the island, guests will join Sami reindeer herder and his reindeers which are living in wildness close to Sommarøy, guests will enjoy reindeer herder calls for his reindeers who are living in free natural habitat.
When the herd is gathered, there will be an opportunity to feed the animals by hand. Guests will also be gathering in traditional Sami lavvo (Sami tent) around open bonfire to enjoy Joik (traditional Sami songs) and learn more about Sami traditions.

During the roundtrip we will visit Sommarøy Arctic Hotel for lunch/meal made of local ingredients. Sommrøy is a fantastic place and a group of islands in the open sea 1,5 hours driving from Tromsø. Guests will have time to explore Sommrøy by walking around before we leave the fishing community.

An Arctic Fjord and Wildlife safari on Kvaløya and Sommarøy is a fantastic way to explore the breathtaking natural beauty of the region and observe the diverse wildlife that inhabits the area. Kvaløya is an island located near Tromsø and Sommarøy is a picturesque fishing village situated on the western coast of Kvaløya.
Duration: 5 to 6 hours.

The Fjord Adventure tour goes around the islands and fjords surrounding Tromso. As your local guide, I will bring you to scenic spots, cultural sights and our playgrounds. Tell of local stories, histories and some of my own. Curiosity and questions are wanted! With good observation, there will always be an interesting animal to spot on our way.

The drive will be in a 4x4 with up to 8 seats, letting us choose our destination. Flexible stops, photos included and lunch with drinks.

The guests will see the breathtaking landscapes of the fjords, an amazing coastline and even a sandy and snowy beach!
Our guide will show them the best places of Tromsø's wilderness and explain in details the local history and culture that contribute to make this destination unique and memorable.

The Arctic is such a magical place, offering special moments through and around the fjords during the twilight months that can only be found above the Arctic circle (this is because the sun does not rise above the horizon). We love nature and believe we share this passion with you. Because of this we have created an scenic, educational sightseeing tour in which we will explore the fjords in the arctic landscape around the Tromsø region. You will head out in a comfortable mini bus with a personal guide who will be with you for the entire duration of the tour.

Picture yourself sitting around a cozy campfire, grilling our high-quality reindeer sausages—a true Arctic delicacy. For those who prefer a meat-free option, we offer delicious vegan sausage. Complement your meal with our sweet, authentic Indian chai tea, lovingly crafted by Boukersen Heim, or enjoy a cup of freshly brewed coffee.
To enhance your adventure, you’ll receive at least three web-resolution pictures for free, including both portrait and landscape formats. If you’d like high-resolution images suitable for print, our guide offers them at 250 NOK each.
While the tour is listed as lasting up to 7 hours, please note that this is an indication of the maximum duration. Before the tour, you'll be conveniently picked up either at the Radisson Blu Hotel in the city center or at our guesthouse, Boukersen Heim. After your tour, you’ll be dropped off at your accomodation.

Our tours will take you discovering everything that Northern Norwegian fjords and rural areas around them have to offer. We choose the location based on weather forecast and go with what nature has to offer us. The landscape takes one through raw and brut nature, rugged mountains, scenic beaches, beautiful lakes, typical houses, farming areas etc. There will also be chance encounters with wildlife and if we are really lucky maybe even see elk and white tailed eagles. The trip lasts anywhere from 4 to 5 hours tops. We will make several stops to enjoy the everchanging landscapes, take photos, enjoy these beautiful places and their uniqueness.

This self-driven tour is really at your own pace. You can stop as you please and for as long as you prefer. This tour has a focus on the cultural aspects of Senja and Tromsø that are often over looked by travellers as they are not well known. Guests will be provided with a detailed information package after purchase providing information on each out, links to our maps with great spots for hikes or all levels, photography locations and other important points of interest.
