One of the most exciting boat trips is to visit the sunken city of Kekova. A terrible earthquake in the 2nd century AD caused a downward shift of land and submerged the ancient houses. You will travel by our vehicle to Ucagiz Village and then take a boat to Kekova area where you will witness the remains of the ancient city.
The ancient Lycian sunken city of Simena is often referred to as Kekova-Simena. The city is a charming mix of ancient, medieval and modern history making it interesting as well as beautiful.
The day begins with a drive to Üçağız village from our office in Kas center to board the boat which will then stop for a swim at Aquarium bay.

Shared Boat Tour of the Sunken City in Kekova- from Kas Harbor including lunch on board start around 10:00 from our Larsoy Travel and Tourism Office at the center of Kas.
Spend a day on the water with our brand new 24 meter Traditional Wooden boat , relaxing in the sun, swimming in the refreshing sea and experiencing awe-inspiring ancient ruins, all from the comfort of our boat. Our experienced captain will guide us to the region’s best swimming spots, sharing interesting information along the way. We’ll explore the quaint village of Kalekoy and photograph the sunken city of Kekova, all with the energy provided by a delicious lunch and the warm Mediterranean sun.

We’ll board the boat and set off on our journey through the calm waters towards Kekova. You be offered refreshments in the sun as we continue on our scenic 1.5 hours cruising to our first stop, Inonu Bay, where you’ll have to chance to swim

Approaching Kekova, our second stop is the aptly named ‘Aquarium Bay’. Dive into the crystal clear waters and swim amongst the colorful sea life as we cook your tasty lunch of barbequed chicken and a variety of Turkish salads and appetizers.

Stop At: Tersane Koyu, Kekova Turkey
After lunch we’ll continue to ‘Tersane’, the site of an ancient shipbuilding yard. From here you’ll get more and more immersed in history as we cruise over the famous sunken city, a Lycian city left underwater by earthquakes in the 2nd century CE. We’ll take lots of pictures of these submerged stone ruins glittering in the water before heading towards Kalekoy.

Stop At: Castle of Simena, Demre (Kale) Turkey
Kalekoy village, only accessible by boat or on foot, was built on top of and amongst the ruins of the ancient city of Simena. You’ll have an hour of free time here to explore the shops lining the narrow streets, walk up to the top of the castle, photograph the Lycian sarcophagi, or just enjoy some homemade ice cream by the sea.
