Itinerary

Day 1: Mt. Nemrut : The Thrones of The Gods

Stop At: Mount Nemrut, Adiyaman 50100 Turkey
Mt Nemrut is the national park of the neighbouring area of the tumuli including the tumuli of Karakuş and Arsemia, summer palaces of the kings, on the way to the top of the mountain.

Mt. Nemrut is a monumental burial site of King Antiochos of Kommagene Kingdom. On the top of Mt Nemrut, a site of three terraces around the tumuli, the remains of the statues of Gods, Goddesses and of course the king still are there to welcome and offer you a perfect view of his Kingdom.

Besides the history of the site, Mt Nemrut is one of the best sites to see the sunset in Turkey and We’ll be there on time and the wine will be our offering.

After sunset, we will drive to the Hotel in the City of Adıyaman.

Stop At: Karakus Tumulusu, Kahta Turkey
Karakuş is the small tumuli in the national park of Nemrut as the grave of King’s mother and the sister. It’ll be the first to visit on the site.

Stop At: Cendere Bridge, Kahta Burmapınar, Adiyaman Turkey
One of the best examples of Roman Bridges, Cendere Bridge was constructed by the Roman Legions 2.Century AD in the reign of the Emperor Septimus Severus.

Stop At: Arsemia Antik Kenti, Kahta Turkey
Arsemia is site of Mt Nemrut as the summer palace area of the Kingdom Kommagene. Today, you can see some examples of reliefs of the palace and the longest inscription.

Day 2: The City of Prophets : URFA

Stop At: Potbelly Hill, Orencik, Sanliurfa 63290 Turkey
Göbeklitepe, potbelly hill, is an excavation site where we found the oldest temple of the world, 10 000 BC. It’s changed the whole history of the world because we thought people of the age were small groups of hunters and gatherers but these monolit, 7 tones and T-shaped pillars of Göbeklitepe changed and still making us ask many other questions because of the carving of animals and other figures on the pillars.

It’ll change more than we expected because we’ve recently found 2 more sites of these temples in the neighbouring region of Southeastern Turkey.

Stop At: Sanliurfa, Sanliurfa, Sanliurfa Province
As one of the most holiest part of Turkey, The City of Prophets, Şanlıurfa is where you will visit Prophet Abraham’s Lake and the cave where he was born. Still you can see the pillars of Abraham on the top of the hill where the castle of Urfa was constructed.

Haleplibahçe Mosaic Museum will offer you one of the rarely found pieces of mosaics, Amazon Queens Hunting Lions. Besides, another rare piece, the ground mosaic of a Assyrian Family Grave can be seen.

Moreover, Urfa is one of the best for Kebabs. You’ll have the chance to taste some local meals.
