This palace is the last residence of the Ottoman sultans, built in the mid-19th century. The palace served as the main administrative center of the Ottoman Empire from 1856 to 1887 and from 1909 to 1922. The founding president of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk has also spent his last days in this palace.
