Stop At: Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel, Portage Glacier Hwy, Whittier, AK 99693

Travel time from Anchorage to Whittier is 90 minutes. From Girdwood to Whittier, allow 45 minutes. The Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel is open from 10:30 AM – 10:45 AM for access to Whittier. The tunnel opens on the hour to depart Whittier, hourly until 11:00 PM.

Stop At: Prince William Sound, AK

Cruise the calm waters of Prince William Sound to view glaciers and wildlife up close on our safe, clean and comfortable high-speed catamarans. Watch for wildlife along the way to the glaciers as you enjoy narration by a ranger from the Chugach National Forest Service.

Getting to Whittier is part of the fun! Not only is the drive on the Seward Highway spectacular, but you will also travel through the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel, the longest shared rail and vehicle tunnel in North America. The tunnel operates on a strict time schedule alternating one-way traffic. From Anchorage, allow 1.5 hours to reach the entrance to the tunnel. We recommend the 10:30 AM Tunnel which opens for 15 minutes to allow cars to transit to Whittier.

Paid parking is available on Whittier Street. We depart from the Cliffside Marina. Please present photo I.D. to pick up your boarding cards. Boarding will begin at 12:00 PM. After the cruise, the tunnel opens on the hour until 11:00 PM to depart Whittier.
