You’ll be helping train some of the best dogs in the world for the Iditarod. Our family has won 8 of the past 17 Iditarod races, and this is how we prepare the dogs in the fall season. You’ll visit the kennel, see the dogs hitched, and then learn how we chose lead dogs, and train them for the 1000 mile Iditarod. Itinerary

Visit the winter training camp for the Seavey Iditarod teams and join the crew for a real training run. This is as authentic as it gets, you’ll be helping train a group of young dogs, and the run lengths vary with the season. WE WILL NOT HAVE SNOW, SO WE EXERCISE THE DOGS BY HITCHING THEM TO AN ATV – Polaris Ranger or similar. Roughly 1.5 hours total, including an hour of mushing and time to play with the dogs and puppies!
