Itinerary

Day 1: Meet and Greet: Depart Denver for Backpacking

Stop At: San Isabel National Forest, Located 25 miles West of Pueblo, Pueblo, CO
This is a stunning part of Colorado located outside of the small towns of Deckers, CO. The hike will vary in altitudes between 8,000 and 12,000 feet, and you will be ascending a total of ~ 2,500 feet over the course of the trip . The scenery along this hike is beautiful, and includes majestic rock formations, Lost Creek, aspen groves, and lush alpine forests.

Meals included:
• Breakfast: BACKPACKER’S PANTRY
Hot Blueberry, Walnut, Oats & Quinoa Cereal – 1 Serving

• Lunch: Day 1: Veggie sandwich (hummus, avocado, tomato, lettuce)
or Almond butter and jelly sandwich
• Dinner: Night 1: GOOD TO-GO
Classic Marinara with Penne – Single Serving

Day 2: Full Day of Back Packing

Stop At: San Isabel National Forest, Located 25 miles West of Pueblo, Pueblo, CO
As this trip is intended for first time backpackers, your guide will teach you everything you need to know about exploring the backcountry. This includes setting up camp, cooking, navigation, or anything else you may be interested in learning more about. Throughout this trip, we will be practicing Leave No Trace backcountry ethics.

The trip outlined can be done as an out and back or loop that is approximately 12- 22 miles. We can modify and change the route depending on your fitness and ability if necessary, before or even during the trip. This hike has the options to shorten the mileage if we choose.
