Pass By: Shell Key, Florida, USA
Stroll through the 1800 acres of the Shell Key Preserve, including the mangroves and estuaries.
Stop At: Fort De Soto Park, 3500 Pinellas Bayway S, Tierra Verde, FL 33715-2529
We ride into Fort DeSoto Park, teeming with history and wildlife. We’ll visit the remains of 100-year old fort and gun batteries and bunkers. There is also a quaint little history museum with fascinating history and artifacts. Finally we’ll venture over to the 1000-foot fishing pier, where there are restrooms and a concession stand. You might even get to see dolphins or manatees from the pier.
Then we start our journey back to home.
