This narrated walking tour includes stories of Nashville’s history and the event’s that evolved Nashville into the vibrant city is today. From the late 1700’s settlement of Ft. Nashborough, historical statues of Tennessee leaders, key sites of the women’s suffrage & civil rights movements, and other notable historical landmarks – Nashville has a story to tell.

You’ll even see a statue of one famous Tennessean, a relative of Joe, that made World War I history.

Of course, no historical tour is complete without a little music history; along with a few scoundrels, colorful characters, political scandals, and discussion of Nashville’s Metropolitan form of government.

Stop At: Nashville War Memorial Auditorium, 7th Avenue North, Nashville, TN 37203

Legislative Office Building in Greek style built just after World War I. The Nashville twist: It includes an auditorium/performance venue that hosts music, comedy, and shows of all kinds!

Stop At: Tennessee State Capitol, 600 Charlotte Ave, Nashville, TN 37243-9034

Built in the 1840’s with architect William Strickland leading the way, this capitol is only one of 12 in the United States without a dome.

Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Printer’s Alley, Between 3rd Ave N & 4th Ave N An alley from Union St to Commerce St, Nashville, TN 37201

The world famous site that mixed and mingled the rich and famous with the broke and forgotten. From the 1890s till today, stories of colorful characters and fun nights galore.

Stop At: Downtown Presbyterian Church, 154 5th Ave N, Nashville, TN 37219-2316

This structure has stood since the Civil War. A product of architect William Strickland, this edifice is built with total Egyptian Revival architecture. Served as a 150 bed hospital in the U.S. Civil War.
