The tour will head north on US 191 passing the entrance of Arches National Park which was designated as a National Monument before being changed to a National Park in 1971. Our special use permit allows us to enter the back door to Arches via Willow Springs Road. Along this backcountry route, you'll travel through the new area of the "Utah Raptor State Park". Here where Native Americans lived back in history for thousands of years you'll see dinosaur tracks and enjoy the views of the La Sal Mountains. The Park lies atop an underground salt bed that is responsible for the arches, spires, and sandstone fins. Several of the stops include Eye of the Whale(Backcountry), Balanced Rock(Pavement), Sand Dune Arch(Pavement), Delicate Arche Viewpoint(Pavement), and the Windows Section(Pavement). The trip length is approximately 4 hours duration. All vehicles are Jeep Rubicons which are enclosed and air-conditioned.

We will visit at least four locations for photography in iconic Arches National Park for the afternoon golden hour and sunset. I have traveled extensively in search of amazing photographic locations, and it is hard to beat Arches National Park for the wide variety of photographic locations, and it is an official international Dark Skies park. During the busy season, I will lead the tour to locations that are less well known but still spectacular.

I will show you great locations, and make suggestions on composition and subject matter. I can even help you with your camera settings if you are a beginner. After sunset. we will take a brief break for a picnic and go over camera settings for night photography while we wait for the Milky Way to emerge. (Note: in April & May, the Milky Way does not appear until after midnight, so we will return to Moab after sunset, and head back out late at night. I have traveled extensively in search of amazing photographic locations, and it is hard to beat Arches, Dead Horse Point and the Islands in the Sky district of Canyonlands National Park.

I will show you great locations, and make suggestions on photographic composition and subject matter. I can even help you with your camera settings if you are a beginner. We will take a break for lunch (not included) during the middle of the day when the light is not as good.

This is a true White Water experience!! Splash your way down the Colorado River through the rapids of Westwater Canyon, where in addition to rugged desert scenery, there’s the chance you could spot wildlife from soaring bald eagles to river otters and beavers. Over the course of a day, hold on tight as your guide helps navigate the Class III and Class IV whitewater, where rapids have names like Sock-It-To-Me, Funnel Falls and Skull.
