Eastsound Trip Overview

Welcome Aboard the High Seas! We are currently offering two departures daily (12:00 PM & 3:00 PM). This is a 2-hour cruise. Guests will relax in comfort and safety aboard a beautifully restored 1935 John Alden motor yacht once owned by Hollywood royalty. Our cruise will last approximately two hours from departure to return. Along our route we will pass Orcas Island, Shaw Island, Crane Island and Pole Pass. Throughout the cruise the Captain will be explaining the tales and lore behind many of these unique and culturally historic areas. You are welcome to sit back, relax and marvel in the majestic tranquility of the San Juan waterways. This is very unique way to experience the beauty of the Pacific Northwest Islands. A truly memorable experience, and with any luck we may spot orcas, humpbacks, minkes and occasionally even gray whales. So, bring your camera and enjoy your trip! Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Pass By: Orcas Island, Orcas Island, San Juan Islands, Washington

4:00 PM Departure – Our two-hour guided cruise will depart from West Sound Marina, aboard a truly majestic vessel the “High Seas”. Once owned by Hollywood royalty, the High Seas was built in 1935 by world famous naval architect John Alden, and over the past few years she has been restored to her previous glory. After a short reception and briefing from the Captain, we will proceed Southwest towards Pole Pass and Crane Island. You are welcome to sit back, relax and enjoy, as the Captain explains the history of landmarks along the way. Along our journey we will past many famous landmarks, such as Massacre Bay, Deer Harbor, Crane Island, Wasp Passage, Blind Bay and the San Juan Channel. With any luck we may spot orcas, humpbacks, minkes and occasionally even gray whales. The cruise will last approximately 2 hours and cruise will conclude safely back at West Sound Marina.

Pass By: Deer Harbor, Deer Harbor, Orcas Island, San Juan Islands, Washington

4:30 PM – Along our journey we will be passing through historic Pole Pass and Deer Harbor. This historic area is home to many vintage yachts and scenic surroundings.

Pass By: Shaw Island, Shaw Island, San Juan Islands, Washington

5:00 PM – As we make our way back to West Sound, we will be passing the northern part of Shaw Island via the Wasp Passage. Shaw Island coastline is home to many rare and elusive migratory birds.

Pass By: Turtleback Mountain, Wild Rose Lane, Orcas Island, WA

5:30 PM – On our return journey to West Sound, you will get a truly amazing view of Turtleback Mountain. One of the top scenic destinations on Orcas Island.

Pass By: Orcas Island, Orcas Island, San Juan Islands, Washington

6:00 PM – Our final journey up the West Sound Fjord will return us safety back to West Sound Marina at around 6pm.
