Some say they were caused by plots of sabotage and revenge and you’ll hear stories that the fire chief heard a voice warning him about the fires before anyone else knew. The Third Ward was called the Blood Third in the mid-19th-century due to street gangs and groups of thugs, but it was also home to the city’s best hotels and businesses. You’ll hear about the ghost of a small boy, Timmy, who at the Institute of Beauty and Wellness has scared many students over the years.
A few buildings survived the fire including the Old Saloon and the Irish Pub, once a house of ill repute and where a lover’s quarrel ended in disaster. Guests and employees have been terrified by apparitions of the Lady of the Pub in the basement and in the bathroom mirrors. You’ll also be taken to Milwaukee’s most haunted location, the Pfiser Hotel, where the spirit of Charles Pfiser still roams.
