Itinerary

Stop At: West Thumb Geyser Basin, Yellowstone Lake, Yellowstone National Park, WY

Our Day Paddle is a five to seven mile journey and usually takes about five hours. After a brief orientation, thorough safety talk and interactive kayak instruction, the group will paddle North West along the shore of Yellowstone Lake. Depending on weather conditions and the group ability, our guides will safely escort the group to West Thumb Geyser Basin and beyond, often continuing to Potts Geyser Basin, a rarely seen area of the park only possible to view by non-motorized boat. We take multiple breaks at scenic points along the route to stretch our legs and experience the grandeur of the lake. After touring the Geyser Basin, where dozens of geothermal features are visible above and below the water’s surface, we will return along the same route, stopping for refreshment and a chance to explore along the shore of the lake, arriving back at our Launch Point in Grant Marina between 12pm and 1pm. Return time may vary depending on group size, weather, fitness, etc.
