Itinerary
Day 1: Hanoi – Ba Be Lake (L, D)
Stop At: Ba Be National Park, Bo Lu Village Ba Be district, Nam Mau 270000 Vietnam
You will be collected at 08:00 to begin your journey to Ba Be National Park. Ba Be Lake is one of the largest freshwater lakes in Vietnam, and because of its higher altitude, it is sometimes nicknamed Halong Bay in the Mountains. On the way, we will visit the Thai Nguyen Museum where you can gain an insight into the culture and ethnic groups from the whole of Vietnam but particularly in the north the where locals still adhere to their minority languages, beliefs, architecture and clothing. You can try some local dishes at lunch in a restaurant in Bac Kan. Upon arrival in Ba Be, you can stroll around the lake shore to enjoy the marvellous sunset before enjoying a great dinner and an overnight stay at a beautiful, traditional Tay wooden stilt house.

Day 2: Cycling And Kayaking (B, L, D)

After having breakfast at the homestay overlooking the magnificent scenery, you will take a bike ride and head to Pac Ngoi Village to meet more of the local Tay community. As you cycle over the undulating hills, you will be treated to a great view of the whole of the lake. In the village, you may observe how the Tay people make their living by farming and fishing and find out more about their traditional lifestyle. A further 4 km down the road, you will come to Boc Lom Quay where you will a boat will be waiting for you. You can leave the bikes on the boat and transfer to a kayak. You’ll now use some different muscles, paddling along the Nang River to the Puong Cave. Here you will see the dramatic stalagmites and stalactites and the thousands of bats who call this home. You will continue your journey by kayak to the main lake stopping to visit the Fairy Pond and An Ma temple. If the weather permits, there is a lovely swimming spot where you can jump into the cool waters before returning to Bo Lu Village in the late afternoon. In the evening, you will have a delicious dinner and a good night’s rest at Homestay.

Day 3: Ba Be Lake – Hanoi (B, L)
Stop At: Ba Be National Park, Bo Lu Village Ba Be district, Nam Mau 270000 Vietnam
After breakfast, you will visit the biggest cave in Ba Be, Hua Ma Cave. the biggest one in the Ba Be area before driving through Dog Flower Pass with the chance to take amazing photos of terraced rice fields. You will stop for lunch in a local village and arrive in Hanoi late in the afternoon, where you will be ped off at your hotel.
